This past week freshman, Erik Bowers, was recognized by the Wilson School District. During this past season Bowers was the first freshman in Central Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League (CPIHL) history to record a hat trick in his first varsity game. Bowers hat trick came against Cedar Cliff on December 11, 2009 in which he recorded a goal in each period in a 6-1 win. Bowers was also recognized by the Wilson School Board for becoming the highest scoring Tier I freshman in CPIHL history. Bowers had 10 goals and 8 assists which put him second on the team in point only to senior, Max Farrara. Bowers young talent can only continue to grow and the Bulldogs are looking forward to 3 more productive years from Bowers.

Very impressive feat
ReplyDeleteO boy Wilson! I love Wilson. Their Water Polo team is dirty.
ReplyDeleteThat kid is going to be money in the next three seasons. Any chance of him taking a Junior route?
ReplyDeleteWatching High School athletics is exciting because students give it their all.
ReplyDeleteFirst, I would like to thank you all for posting on your thoughts on a great achievement. As for the Junior route, I am not sure. There has been many players from the CPIHL who have left their high school to further there expereince at the junior level. In particular Tyler Hostetter stand out in my mind. After 10th grade Hostetter was drafted by the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and has been playing there since. This past year he was invited to the Philadelphia Flyers rookie camp, but did not make the team. It would be a great honor for Bowers to take the same path into juniors.
